There’s a radio station here in Orlando that plays all Christmas music all the time for about a month leading up to Christmas. That might be a little overkill, but I do switch over every once in a while to get a dose of Christmas spirit.
The Christmas season is a great illustration of how much power music has to give voice to our emotions and move us very deeply. There’s much excitement and anticipation as we wait to celebrate the birth of Christ, and that emotion just comes bursting forth through the music. Everyone has a favorite Christmas song … what’s yours? Send me a note on twitter (@robert_pierre) or post on my facebook page (www.facebook.com/RobertPierreMusic) to let me know.
I may be off from school for a few weeks, but things aren’t really slowing down much. In addition to all the Christmas services at HBC, we’re delivering some Christmas baskets this week. My grandparents are in town now and more family is coming in for Christmas Day. A lot of my friends from high school are coming back into town for winter break too, so I’m hoping I’ll get to see them. Plus, the soccer season is wrapping up so we’ve got a few final games to play.
Once the New Year rolls around, we’ll have some pretty exciting news to share, so stay tuned! In the meantime, Merry Christmas!
